The Erith & Crayford 'Capers' Gangshow History
The name Capers, which is the shows nick name, was given to the show in 1992 by our Producer, Trevor Thomas. In Ralph Readers first show's rehearsal, a cast member came running in and shouted "The Gangs All Here", thats how the first gangshow in 1932 got it's name. We got our nickname because at one of our rehearsals in 1992, a group of lads were laughing and messing around in the break. Trevor said, "Hey what are you lot doing, you should all be in a show of 'Capers' ". From that day on, we called ourselves Capers. 'Capers' 2000 was our 10th Anniversary.
